« En route vers l’Essentiel » is a set of two movies which tell the story of our 500 days journey by bicycle from France to Vietnam. The first film is following our travel across Europe and Middle-East, while the second one, which is not realeased yet, will be set only on Asia.

SYNOPSIS

“En route vers l’essentiel” is the story of two dreamers who left on a journey eastwards with recumbent bicycles. It is a movie is about travel and experience, about the everyday life of a couple on a journey, with joy and sometimes weariness, with plenty of surprises and reflection about the lessons you learn when you are on the road for some time.

Together with Justine, we were slowly heading from the green landscapes of Central Europe across the Middle East until the luxuriant wadis of the Sultanate of Oman. This sets the background, but the movie is really about our life on the road, a human adventure filled with smiles and emotions, an invitation to slow pace travel, to let go of unnecessary things in order to make space for to leave a place for daily enchantment.

“En route vers l’essentiel” can’t easily be translated to English. It means something like “On the way towards the basics, the basics being also the essence of life.

Countries crossed : France, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran and Persian Gulf (Hormuz and Qeshm), United Arab Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.
